Watford House employs a full time cook who provides varied, nutritional meals using fresh and locally produced ingredients- sometimes from our own garden!

Relatives/visitors are welcome to part take of meals/beverages with residents by prior arrangement with management.

If you wish to arrange special celebrations e.g. birthdays, please inform management who may be able to assist.

Whilst all residents are encouraged to eat in the dining room meals may be served in individual bedrooms or other areas. Dinner and Tea menus are generally displayed, on a daily basis on the Residents Notice board in the back entrance hall.

Breakfast is served from 8.30am- 10.30am Breakfast usually consists of a selection of cereals, porridge with hot or cold milk, marmalade/jam/marmite sandwiches, marmalade/jam/marmite on toast, tea or coffee.

The main meal of the day is served from 12.30pm –2.00pm. It is two courses and always consists of two choices of vegetables, potatoes and protein dishes, a choice of two desserts, accompanied by squash, tea or coffee.
Special diets e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, gluten free, low fat, reducing diets are catered for as far as practical.

A mid afternoon drink and biscuits are served at approximately 2.30pm each day.

Tea is generally served between 4.30pm – 5.30pm. It consists of at least four choices with two choices for dessert accompanied by tea/coffee.

Supper is served from 6.30pm onwards until residents retire to bed. It generally consists of sandwiches, cream crackers, cake, biscuits, milky drinks, tea or coffee.

It is our policy to make regular contact with local dieticians to update our knowledge on specialised diets.
