Watford House was constructed around the turn of the 18th century,
from local stone and is situated in 2 acres of landscaped gardens. The house
is situated on the edge of the Peak District, on the outskirts of New Mills,
Marple Bridge and Mellor, in a quiet residential area within easy reach
of the centres.
It has 34 single bedrooms of which 23 have en suite facilities and 3 companion
rooms all of which have en suite facilities. All rooms are fitted with a
call system, individual control central heating and breathtaking views of
the garden or surrounding countryside. All rooms are fully furnished. Provision
is also made for residents who wish to bring in their own furniture and
other personal belongings. Two single rooms, with en suite facilities, have
been specifically designed for wheelchair users.
Watford House has ample toilet and bathroom facilities which are fully equipped
with aids to assist those who require such help with showering, bathing
and using the toilet.
The Home is equipped with a four person passenger lift.
There are four separate lounges, having TV, video and stereo equipment.
In addition to the main lounges a library is being developed. There is an
attractive double glazed conservatory and separate dining room.
Watford House is registered for elderly adults with a special category
for the elderly mentally infirm.
Long term care, respite care and short stay care is available.
